To represent the tamil measurements the generated glyphs needs to be used and substituted wherever necessary. But an idea and understanding of what the quantity means contemporarily makes sense. Hence the help of modern metric notation using decimal number system becomes vital. With that in one hand, and tamil notation in one hand, one has to use the one to one mapping of tamil notation to glyph using LaTeX.

The preamble code at the beginning of the tex file transfoms the “tamil notation” (actually written in english, to exact tamil notation glyph, by pointing the corresponding glyph created earlier with font forge, using the glyphs unicode address. This enables the document typesetter to just type the tamil notation in english after “\”.

**Ex:** */muntiri, /onru* will get rendered with corresponding tamil glyphs.
